BORROWING FROM GOD

As you grow into this walk of dependence through the Holy Spirits control and influence, then where you once said, “I just cant do it,” you now say, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).

That's because walking in Gods Spirit means that you are in fact borrowing from Gods power (1 Peter 1:3).

Walking in God's

Spirit means you

are in fact

borrowing from

God's power.

If you could give me the mind Einstein had, there's no mathematical formula I could not unravel. If you give me the fingers of Mozart, there's no tune I couldn't piay. Give me Michael Jordan's legs and Hank Aaron's arms, and there's no sports contest in which I couldn't excel.

And if you give me the life of Jesus Christ…there's no spiritual victory I cannot achieve!

Paul says, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). Paul had no qualms in saying, “I borrow from God—I can't live the Christian life on my own, so I had to die to my own human efforts.”

Most Christians don't believe that. Most Christians believe they can pull off most of the Christian life, until they get to the “biggies”; only then do they need God.

But that's opposite of Paul's thinking. Paul speaks freely about “the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ” in dealing with life's circumstances (Philippians 1:19). That's the same help that we desperately need in every arena of life, and the same help that the Spirit freely offers you and me.
