20 oz (1.3 lb) organic ground turkey or organic ground beef (your preference) ¼ cup whole wheat seasoned breadcrumbs (4C brand is usually easy to find)

¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated

1 organic egg, beaten

2 large garlic cloves, crushed

1 tsp kosher salt

Fresh pepper to taste

1 tsp dried minced onion

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350˚ Spray a baking sheet with olive oil. In a large bowl, beat the egg. Add bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic, minced onions, salt and pepper. Mix until evenly distributed. Add the turkey or beef. Mix well and form 12 meatballs. Place on baking sheet. Using a misto, spray each meatball with a small amount of olive oil. This will allow the meatballs to get a golden brown color.

Bake at 350˚ for 10 minutes, then turn meatballs over, spray each with a small amount of olive oil and cook for another 10 minutes until cooked through.

Notes: If you are making a tomato sauce with these you can put the meatballs directly in the simmering sauce after you’ve baked them for added flavor.

If your ground turkey/beef is a 1lb package, you can still use the same measurements of spices and yield 12 meatballs that will be slightly smaller. In some supermarkets the organic ground turkey/beef is in 1lb packages rather than the traditional 1.3lb package.
