Accident 217

Don’t congregate together or congregate in groups

The word congregate means “to gather or come together in a crowd, assemble in large numbers,” so pairing together or group with congregate is redundant: “When children get sick with the flu they tend to spread it quickly because they congregate together” (WALA-TV, Alabama); “Students should stay home and not congregate in large groups for 7–10 days, according to the health department” (San Diego Unified School District website).
