These recipes take the guesswork out of daily meal preparation. They can be added to other recipes or enjoyed on their own, and they help you avoid the store-bought options that you won’t want to consume while on the 4-Phase Histamine Reset Plan. These recipes are made to be acceptable for Phase 1 of the plan. If you have to remove more foods in Phase 3, there will be alternate instructions at the bottom of the recipe where it says “Phase 3.”

LOWER-HISTAMINE MAYONNAISE

Mayonnaise is something I never wanted to give up. I have a few variations of this recipe so that most people will be able to tolerate it with no problem.

MAKES 1 CUP (220 G)

1 large pasture-raised egg

1½ tbsp (20 g) mustard made with distilled white vinegar (such as Annie’s brand)

1 cup (240 ml) extra-light tasting olive oil

½ tsp sea salt

Place the egg, mustard, oil and salt in a Mason jar and stick an emulsion blender all the way to the bottom. Once the bottom portion is emulsified, slowly bring the blender up and blend until the next portion is emulsified, going up and down as necessary to create a homogenous mixture. Repeat this process until the mixture is creamy throughout, 1 to 2 minutes.

PHASE 3: If egg whites cause an issue, try using 2 large pasture-raised egg yolks instead of a whole egg. If you still cannot tolerate this, remove this item completely.
