A question that sometimes comes up during the Organizing Step is where to put special materials, such as products that are going to be corrected or things that you canât sell right now. Should they be close to the production area where there really isnât space, or should they be placed in a special storage space outside of the production establishment?
My advice for you is to not put away this material.
The reason that we have such a high inventory of these things is that there is a problem in production related to quality, planning, or something else. If we just put this problematic item away, we easily forget the problem, which increases the risk of us not dealing with the root causes.
