Chapter Eleven
I got my change up; they looking like they surprised. Niggas hatin’ on me hard ’cause my paper right.
The sound of Dior’s phone ringing woke her from her deep sleep.
“Hello!”
“Ewww. Wake up!” said Ashley, Dior’s cousin, who stayed in Atlanta. They grew up more like sisters. Ashley was the only person Dior would let get close to her. That was by default, because Ashley went to Atlanta to attend Spelman. She received her degree and would be going to law school the following fall. Dior and Ashley were far from dumb. Dior was building her credentials. She just liked to fuck. She did what most bitches would sneak around to do.
“Man, don’t start! It’s too late!” Dior replied, grumpy, like she always did after being woken up.
“Man, I’m at your house. Where are you?”
“Are you really? Why didn’t you tell me that you were coming? What time is it?” Dior wondered as she sat up, beginning to get dressed.
“I was trying to surprise you. It’s four a.m. My flight landed at midnight. Sincere came and got me from the airport. More like kidnapped me.” Sincere and Ashley had a crazy relationship. Bottom line was whenever she needed him he was there and vice versa.
Sincere was black as night. He was gorgeous. He wore his curly hair in a low taper. He had blemish-free skin and stood at six feet five inches. He had bitches falling at his feet. When Ashley was in town, bitches knew to not even look in dude’s direction. He played all day if he knew you. If you didn’t know him, he was most dominating. You wouldn’t think he was as cool as he was.
“Shut up. I’m not far. I’ll be there in like twenty minutes,” Dior announced, hanging up the phone. She placed on her shoes and headed toward the valet. She jumped on I-96, which took her to her Redford home. She had to stay away from where she played.
She got out of her car, grabbing her bags to head in the house. Damn, I’m glad I gave her ass a key.
Before Dior could even open the door, Ashley was screaming and running into her arms. “Oh my God, I missed you!” Ashley made it known by the thrill in her voice.
“Here you go with that soft shit!” Dior retorted. She always played the tough role, but she really missed her sister/cousin. Dior didn’t mess with too many females, so her cousin was her only true friend.
“Here you go with that tough shit!” Ashley replied in her smart tone as they walked into Dior’s kitchen. “But anyway, Sincere said he wants us to party with him tonight. You down?”
As Dior sat down at her kitchen table, she looked at Ashley like she was crazy. “This is my cousin’s first day home, and you really think I’m not going to party with her? Where are we going?” Dior wondered.
Ashley replied, “He said some new club, called Club LAX. His boy owns it.”
Dior just burst out laughing.
