Letters and Lillian

I went back to Dad’s home office closet, searching for that paper about my grandmother that I had found years earlier. I found two letters. I was so confused. I only remembered seeing one letter.

Why was it as though I was looking at these two pieces of paper for the first time? It had been nine years since I had searched through all of this. One letter was from my grandfather to a doctor, and the other letter was the doctor’s reply to him. As I started reading, I understood everything with new and profound perspective. It was a complete revelation.
