DISTORTIONS OF GNOSTICISM

As mentioned here, today one can find distorted forms of Gnosticism that designate themselves as Luciferian Gnosticism. They have nothing to do with the original, true Gnostic Christianity. There is a great deal of disinformation around about Christian Gnosticism, obviously in an attempt to defend established power systems and deflect threatening truths. Only the old Gnostic texts from the first centuries can be taken seriously. Even in the early centuries, somewhat different versions of Gnostic Christianity developed. One is the Sethian Gnosticism, which relates to Seth, the third son of Adam and Eve (see remarks here about Cain, Abel, and Seth). Some slanderers want us to believe that he would be the ancient Egyptian god Seth, widely regarded as a figure of evil.
