Conceptual themes tend to underlie discussions of a number of illustrative issues. Having identified the theme of responsibility, I next read through the interview transcripts again in full and found this theme to be evident in discussion of a number of other issues. One such issue was respondents’ feelings about different teaching sessions and, in particular, students’ preparation for seminars. Exercise 7 invites you to look for the theme of responsibility in a section of the transcript of the interview with Rachel, part of which was used in Chapter 4.
