CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Colin saved the last changes to his design and closed the file. He leaned back and heaved a contented sigh.

Only another hour or two and I can see him.

Ed had been in his thoughts all day.

Colin had to face facts. What had started as a healthy case of falling in lust was developing into something else, and he wasn’t sure how he felt about that right now. Walking along Brighton beach on Sunday afternoon, things had seemed much clearer. He and Ed had gone for a walk after lunch, and it had been great. The hot August sun beating down on their bare chests, the surf lapping around their ankles as they strolled along the shoreline, the smell of the sea air, salty and fresh… At one point Colin had wanted so badly to take hold of Ed’s hand, but at the last moment had shied away from the idea.

Not sure how he’d feel about that.

He was pretty sure that as far as Ed was concerned, it was all about the sex. Colin didn’t expect anything more. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t hoping.

Colin closed his eyes. He could still see Ed above him, riding him hard, the look of ecstasy on Ed’s face as his orgasm exploded within him. But hell, the feel of Ed’s body wrapped around his cock…

Colin gave himself a little mental shake. Yes, the sex was good. Then he laughed out loud.

Who am I kidding? The sex was phenomenal.

It had been a while since he’d dated, and the last few dates had been nothing special. That aspect of his life had taken a back seat lately as his job with Wilson & Beckett had started to take off. But certainly there’d been nothing like his time with Matthew. Until now.

Colin’s laissez-faire philosophy was taking a battering. For the first time in a long while, he was thinking about a guy in terms of a relationship. Only, he didn’t know how the guy in question would react.

He’s only just discovering he likes dick. I can’t ask him for any more than that.

Colin shook his head. That didn’t stop him from wishing, though.

His phone rang, startling him. Colin smiled. He’d missed Ed in his bed last night. He went to answer it and then paused, eyes fixed on the screen. Matthew.

Colin frowned. It had been almost a year since he’d last spoken with his ex. The last he’d heard, Matthew had moved to Leeds when his company had transferred him.

“Hey, Matthew.”

That husky voice hadn’t changed. “Hi, Colin. How are you?”

“Fine, thanks. To what do I owe the pleasure?”

“I’m back in London, as of last week. Apparently the company couldn’t function without me.”

Colin snorted. “Delusions of grandeur, maybe? You’re an accountant, Matt. I’m pretty sure they coped fine without you.”

Matt chuckled. “Okay, so I lied. I couldn’t stand it in Leeds a second longer. I begged them to transfer me back to London.”

Colin laughed. “Ah, that sounds more like it. So you’ve moved back?”

“Uh-huh, which is sort of why I’m calling.
