If you want to make $120,000 per year for the next thirty years, just get thirty of these customers. To go big you have to start small. In order to do this you must develop a completely different mindset. If the customer doesn’t purchase right away, you still need to treat them like a lifetime customer and not like a lead. It’s a long-term view. And the best news of all is that the LTV model doesn’t even factor in the network effect.
The Network Effect
In the Peoplework era the “network of influence” has replaced the “circle of influence.” The Internet made it easier and faster to establish trust. So if anyone can build trust, and anyone can buy leads, what does that leave you with? It means that you cannot just think about leads as numbers anymore, because that is not sustainable. Every “lead” is being sold multiple times, which means that the person on the other end is being bombarded by countless companies vying for their business. The only thing that will set you apart is experience.
