If you look at a lot of author websites, in an effort to provide for any possible option a reader might desire, they crowd a page with a multitude of choices. You can look at their books, which have a huge pull-down menu (with twenty titles). Or you can sign up for their newsletters. Or you can look at their blog posts. You can see their Twitter feed. You can like their Facebook page. You can also see a tag cloud of what other people have searched for.

It’s like Vegas: there are flashy signs everywhere. And like Vegas, it can be a little exhausting, especially if you’re not quite sure what you want to do.
