Honey Barbecue Meat Loaf

SERVES 6

I love meals that don’t require much thought or effort, like meat loaf. One of the best things about meat loaf is that you can season it to your liking and add your favorite sauce to make it your own. This meat loaf is an easy meal that goes well with steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes, or Cheesy Garlic Bread . It is a simple and comforting dish everyone can enjoy.

DAIRY-FREE / FAMILY FAVORITE / NUT-FREE / UNDER 30 MINUTES

PREP TIME: 10 minutes

COOK TIME: 15 minutes

ACCESSORIES: Grill Grate / Smart Thermometer

1 white onion, diced

1 cup plain bread crumbs

4 tablespoons minced garlic

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

½ cup barbecue sauce, divided

2 tablespoons honey

2 large eggs

2 pounds ground beef

1. Plug the thermometer into the unit. Insert the Grill Grate and close the hood. Select GRILL, set the temperature to MED, then select PRESET. Use the arrows to the right to select BEEF. The unit will default to WELL to cook beef to a safe temperature. Select START/STOP to begin preheating.

2. While the unit is preheating, in a large bowl, combine the onion, bread crumbs, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ¼ cup of barbecue sauce, honey, and eggs. Add the ground beef in chunks and loosely mix, then form the meat into a loaf about 3 inches high and 6 to 8 inches long. Insert the Smart Thermometer into the loaf.

3. When the unit beeps to signify it has preheated, place the meat loaf on the Grill Grate. Close the hood and grill until the Smart Thermometer indicates the internal temperature is 145°F.

4. When it does, open the hood and brush on the remaining ¼ cup of barbecue sauce. Close the hood and continue cooking until the Smart Thermometer indicates the meat loaf has reached 160°F.

5. When cooking is complete, remove the meat loaf from the grill and serve.
