New Orleans Public Service Inc. streetcar No. 814 is approaching a passenger stop on St. Charles Avenue west of Canal Street on July 16, 1963. The number 24 (on the upper right hand window when facing the front the streetcar) indicated the order in which the streetcar left the streetcar barn that day. Hence streetcar No. 814 was the twenty-fourth streetcar to leave the streetcar barn that day.

The wide grass-covered private right of way on South Carrollton Avenue provides traffic-free operation for New Orleans Public Service Inc. streetcar No. 814 on July 16, 1963. Operating in the median (neutral) strip in the center of St. Charles Avenue and South Carrollton Avenue, the St. Charles streetcar line is a delightful pleasure to ride in New Orleans.
