But typically, that isn’t the reason for her appearing on these pages. Montse HAS THE BEST SEAFOOD IN LA BOQUERIA. See for yourself the way she looks at it, how she looks at it and how she holds it. If you want to fall in love with seafood, drop by her stall. You won’t get lost; it’s right in the middle of the market. There are times when a stroll through La Boqueria is the best part of working there, because you discover a lot of people who treat what they sell as if it were part of their family. It’s like seeing Besora almost pained to sell a kilo of his best peaches, Petràs having to let go of a good truffle, or seeing the Capdevilas bidding farewell to their best pheasant. It will be hard for you to understand if you’ve never sold anything, but I’ll give you an example. When I started to cook and to prepare dishes that were getting more and more complex, there were times as they were being taken out to the customers’ table when I thought that dish was too damn good to give it to a stranger, that I should be eating it myself. I didn’t though, because if I’d followed that philosophy, I’d weigh 300 kilos and be poor.
