Chapter 13
Will woke early, and Dearne was still in his arms. Usually when he woke up, Dearne was gone. But today he was still there. He shifted and Dearne grunted, burying his face in Will’s chest.
“Morning,” Will whispered.
Dearne dragged his head up and blinked. “Morning.” His voice was sleep filled and husky and Will couldn’t resist running a thumb over his lips. Dearne went still and then groaned and slid over Will so he could kiss him. He was bed warm and his skin smelled musky and his lips were soft, but the kiss lit up everything inside Will. He gathered Dearne up so they could rub together in the same way they had done the previous evening and they were pushing hard. It took moments before Will erupted, and Dearne followed. They clung together, and moaned in the aftershocks which rushed through them in the early morning light. They settled back, sticky and warm, and slid back to sleep still holding each other tightly.

Will stared out at the lashing rain wondering how it was the weather could turn so quickly. He was up, washed, and dressed, but Dearne slept doggedly on, snoring softly as he lay sprawled on his back in the big bed. His hair was dark against the pristine linen and his face soft and young in repose. When he awoke, they needed to focus on unravelling the mystery surrounding him. The last few days had been a diversion, but they needed now to get back to the task in hand. Finding out who tried to kill him, who pretended he was dead, and who sold Denton Manor. Lolling around indulging in carnal pleasure wasn’t going to achieve that.
He went back to the bed and shook Dearne’s foot. “Wake up.”
Dearne grunted and pulled his leg up.
“We have work to do.”
Dearne moaned and rolled over.
“Dearne.”
“Go ‘way.”
Will watched as Dearne unfurled his body in a huge, yawning stretch. “Why are you dressed?” he grumbled, peeling open one eye.
“Because it is morning.”
“But I wanted you to ravish me again,” he said, sounding petulant.
As he watched his lover rouse from sleep he wanted nothing more than to ravish him again, to spend the entire day in bed ravishing him. Nay, quite possibly the entire week. He watched him slide his hands under the blankets and unashamedly take hold of his morning erection.
His lover. Will held the words close to his heart. “We need to think about what you are going to do.”
Dearne groaned and rolled over so he could bury his face in the pillow. He also flexed his hips and rocked himself against the bed.
“Can’t we do a spot of ravishing first?”
“Stop saying that.”
“What? Ravishing?”
“Yes, it’s ridiculous.”
“It was your word. I’m trying to be polite and not upset your delicate sensibilities.”
“My word…delicate…” Will was spluttering. “I’ll give you delicate. Get your arse out of there.”
“If I do, will you ravish it?” Dearne rolled onto his back and looked up at him. The gleam in his eye was pure mischief.
