PREPARE THE BURGERS:

In a medium bowl, mix together the ground beef and ground sausage. Form the mixture into four 8-ounce (225-g) patties, season with salt and pepper and place in the center of the hot grill. Grill the burgers for about 4 minutes per side to a medium internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

ASSEMBLE THE BURGERS:

Smear the BBQ sauce on the cut sides of the bottom and top of each bun, add a burger patty, cheese, bacon and fried jalapeños, then top with the top bun.
