Captain America is my favorite example of an ORANGE superhero. He only wants to help. ORANGE characters do not have their own agenda to take over the world—Captain America is not motivated by revenge or wanting to draw attention to himself. He has a big heart utterly devoid of guile and full of humility. When he becomes Captain America, his body reflects the excellence of his inner character, and his purpose is to help others.

BOOKER T. WASHINGTON

The famous author, educator, and civil rights leader Booker T. Washington lived to serve others, which means he is ORANGE. He said so himself: “If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.” (1900) He also said, “I learned long ago that those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.” No statement could be more ORANGE.
