How can I say no to you?

Bella sighed as she sipped her hot tea. Her body was sore from her many rounds of lovemaking with Julian. The man was truly insatiable. When they’d woken up she’d tried to kick him out and he’d made love to her. Then after breakfast, she’d asked him to leave and had somehow found herself on her back yet again.

At that point, she decided to stay quiet. His touch was addicting and every time he made a move her body automatically responded. She got a lucky break when they walked downstairs, where there was a crowd at the front of his building. She followed him outside to meet them and they were bombarded with questions from some local journalists. He frowned as they started to chant his name and looked worriedly at Bella.

“I got this, why don’t you head back inside,” he said. He didn’t give her time to respond; he just leaned down and placed a quick possessive kiss on her lips, earning her some envious looks from some of the female reporters. She didn’t want to argue with him in front of so many people. So she headed back to her store.

It was time to do some research on Julian. By the time she pulled out her laptop, an ESPN van had pulled up. Her eyes widened as she watched videos of him on YouTube. Julian wasn’t just an MMA fighter. He was the MMA fighter. He’d reigned as champion for years in the FFC and now there were rumors that he was retiring.

Her heart sank as she watched some of his fight clip highlights. He was another Claudio, chasing his dream without any regard for his health. She thought back to her lost love and her heart ached. She remembered worrying about him and begging him to stop racing. They’d had enough money and their life was good.

Her love for Claudio had made it impossible for her to enjoy his racing. The adventurous part of her soul had retreated and left a woman with a very vulnerable heart to lose. She’d wanted him to choose her over racing. He had already amassed a fortune and his inability to leave it had caused many fights. But he couldn’t give it up and then she’d lost him.

When he’d died she’d lost herself for a long time. She’d barely survived the depression that ensued after he passed. Maybe she loved too hard…maybe like Tara said she was still traumatized from watching Claudio die in front of her. She just knew if Julian wanted to go back to fighting that would be the end for them.

She closed her laptop and her eyes traveled across the street. According to multiple videos Julian was retired and looking to leave the FFC. She refused to examine why that news filled her with relief.
