JAKE’S REGRET

Jake nodded, his eyes closing again. Damian’s heart squeezed. There had to be a chance for them this time.

He gently moved Jake’s arm and got out of bed. The digital clock read eight-thirty already. He rearranged the covers around his lover.

Damian decided to fetch the newspaper from outside the room before going in to take his shower. He slid the security bolt across the door, opened it and reached for the paper. He scanned the headlines as he pushed the door closed. Nothing earth-shattering. He opened to the sports page, read a couple paragraphs, and then set it down on the table.

Entering the bathroom, Damian turned on the hotel shower and grimaced when he noticed right away the water pressure left a lot to be desired. He couldn’t wait to get back to his house in Birmingham. Not that he was in any hurry to leave Jake. In fact, he hoped to God he wouldn’t be leaving Jake at all.

He stepped into the shower and soaped up. Lately, well since losing Chris, he often spent his shower time masturbating. He didn’t want to do that now. He had Jake to spend the day loving. He rinsed off quickly and reached for the bath towel.

“Oh!” A woman yelled from outside the bathroom.

His heart racing, Damian wrapped the towel around his waist and burst through the door.

A short middle-aged maid had entered the hotel room. She stood just inside staring in surprise at the bed. Damian followed her gaze.
