Indications for the Test and Other Relevant Clinical Data

We suggest you begin your report with a short paragraph in which you review the primary reasons for performing the test. In this section, you should also note the patient’s age, gender, height, and weight; whether the patient is on any relevant cardiac or pulmonary medications such as beta-blockers; and whether they have undergone any cardiac or thoracic surgical procedures.

Pulmonary Function Test Results

Patients perform spirometry prior to starting the exercise test to document their FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC, and their maximum voluntary ventilation (MVV), important data points that will be used in the interpretation of the test results. The results of the spirometry testing as well as an interpretation of these results should be added to the report.
