Someone who is special is someone who thinks differently. That might be because they have a completely diverse background. Some of the smartest people I’ve worked with are dyslexic, and they’re forced to think differently as they navigate a world that’s not made for the way that their brain works. They have a superpower.

My son is a different thinker – I love the way his mind works. He will say to me: “Why can’t I stay up all night and work on my video editing?”

And I’ll say: “Because we don’t do that…”

“Why don’t we do that?” he will fire back at me instantly.

Some of us don’t challenge the norms anymore. Having those people around who are going to force you to rethink and relearn is what makes a great creative solution.
