There is no absolute level of reasoning. In order to obtain a winning strategy, one must be able to evaluate the average level of reasoning of the other participants, that is, master theory of mind.

This protocol has recently been adapted for fMRI.8 The authors showed that the activity of the medial prefrontal cortex9 was positively correlated with the level of reasoning of the subjects. This confirmed what has long been assumed, that the ability to attribute intentions to (and account for) others is correlated with the development of this structure.
