7.10.5 Case 5

7.10.5.1 Medical History

A 53-year-old female patient was admitted due to the right hip pain lasting 6 months after femoral neck fracture fixation 4 years ago. Radiographs (Fig. 7.129) showed fracture healing, uneven density in the femoral head after the removal of the implant, several cystic changes surrounded by high-density sclerotic bands, and normal joint space. MRI (Fig. 7.130) showed uneven signal intensity in the load-bearing area of the femoral head surrounded by a band of low-signal intensity and slight deformity of the femoral head. Harris score was poor (<70 points).
