Although Justice said she was okay, Hank knew better. From experience, the day after was always painful for new riders. And despite that she believed, Justice was a new rider. With a bottle of pain relievers in one hand and a cup of water in the other, he climbed the stairs. He’d hardly gone to the second floor since having his house built and this was his first since she’d come to live with him.
The dust bunnies that were normally on the stairs were now gone, the wood shone with cleanness. The door to the extra bedroom was closed, but the one to TJ’s room was open and a faint light spilled into the darkened hallway. He didn’t imagine she would be sleep. He should’ve thought to give her the painkillers sooner but he’d spent the last two hours thinking of his afternoon with her.
He’d lain in bed remembering how good she’d looked riding the horse, how her butt and breasts bounced uncontrollably as the horse trotted, and he couldn’t stop his mind from going to the lascivious. The thought of her riding him as voraciously as she had the horse made his cock hard. How she would look on top of him? How she would feel?
The only thing that he’d been able to do about his growing erection while they were outside was pull his shirt down to hide the bulge. But behind his closed bedroom door he’d shut his eyes and, with the memory of her body burned into his mind, he stroked himself to relief. Only after he’d fully satisfied himself did he finally have a clear enough head to think about her—in a non-sexual way—and guilt had risen that he had those types of thoughts for his employee, for God’s sake. An employee that lived in the room above his.
When he got to her room he found her door slightly ajar. Her light was on. He wouldn’t have to feel guilty about jacking himself off while Justice had to sleep in pain. He knocked. Justice didn’t answer.
He knocked again. “Justice?” No answer again.
He pushed open her door and peered inside. Her room was spotless and the bed made. He’d furnished all the rooms in the house in case he had visitors, not really spending much thought on the color schemes or furniture choices. He’d bought the bedroom sets that were on sale, now he felt guilty with buying the easy to assemble furniture.
A woman like Justice deserved better. The simple dresser didn’t have anything on top of it. Growing up with two sisters and his mom he knew women liked knick-knacks and picture frames on them. But she’d come with hardly anything and her room showed it. It barely looked lived in at all, save for the thick book that sat in the middle of her bed.
Is she planning on staying?
His heart dropped. Another reason he should keep his relationship with Justice as employer and employee. He couldn’t give his heart to someone who would be pulled away for the fast city life.
