Sacred Stones
As I was driving to Moab, the feeling that I was approaching a land I would find sacred was getting stronger and stronger. The shapes of the mountains were the most unusual. Gypsies believe mountains have a very powerful spirit. Some are inhabited by Little People (similar to how other cultures describe fairies or gnomes). Mountains that have unusual shapes are considered sacred. I saw a rock that looked so much like a sheep; it definitely appeared more like a sculpture built by human beings than like a rock changed by wind and time.
My first stop was Looking Glass Rock. I was surprised to find that there were absolutely no tourists around the rock. It was shaped similar to the “Mirrors of Time” in Tibet described by Dr. Muldashev and other authors who had a chance to see a glimpse of the parallel universe. It was shaped like an amphitheater, with a small “window” on one of its sides. The Rock was so symmetrical, so perfectly shaped that I had a strong feeling it may have been created by human beings from previous civilizations, and I let my imagination run from geological time to create a more fanciful explanation. I am sure thousands of people passed by this Rock and didn’t feel anything unusual. But to me, it was absolutely magical, and I soaked up the energy of the place for a very long time.
I walked to the center of the amphitheater and, with my heart pounding very fast, I made a wish. Here is what I wished for: During the time of my birthday, I wanted to learn something that would change my life in an unusual and unpredicted way. I didn’t know what it would be. I wanted the Universe to surprise me. After that, I snapped several pictures of Looking Glass Rock and drove to Arches National Park.
The short hike to the Delicate Arch seemed like eternity to me. Why was I born with this unusual birthmark? What would I learn when I saw the Delicate Arch? A turn, another turn, and finally I saw it. The view was spectacular. It was so much more than I imagined. I walked straight to the Arch and touched it. Not many tourists dared to walk straight to the Arch – there was an abyss surrounding it. I wasn’t afraid at all. I knew I was protected. The tourists were probably amused looking at me walking around the Arch. I stopped and hugged it, I talked to it, froze in silence for minutes to feel the energy of the arch. What happened at the Arch could only be described as an amazing energy exchange between me and the sacred land and stone. We connected. Once we completed our conversation I went on to the Needle Overlook. I listened to my heart and I had a feeling as if I had finally come home. I took off my shoes and walked barefoot on the warm rocks. The view was breathtaking. It was so quiet and peaceful.
