Start your herb garden in an egg carton.

Immigrants brought herbs to America with them. The English brought mint and thyme. Germans brought dill. Italians brought bay plants. Mint came from the Middle East.

In biblical times, people paid their taxes with dill and mint, instead of money.

Herbs are tasty in soup, stew, or salads. Try oregano on a cheese pizza, or chopped dill on tuna sandwiches. Yummy! There are many ways to use your harvest of herbs.
