Ways to Prepare Fresh Peas

Boil – Shell peas if necessary and put in pot with water to cover and boil 3 to 5 minutes until just cooked. Strain.

Steam – Shell the peas if using fresh. Put a steamer into the bottom of a pot and add an inch of water. Bring water to boil and add the peas to the pot. If you don’t have a steamer you can put the peas directly into the pot. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes or until tender. If using frozen peas, give them an extra minute or two.
