When she arrived at the river, she made a right turned and entered Snake Canyon. She grew weary of following the horse manure trail, but it was better than a dotted line. The red and orange striated colored the walls to her right and the black waters to her left also kept her traveling in the right direction. When a fish leaped out of the water, a tentacle exploded from the water and grabbed it. Both returned to the water with a great splash. No swimming on this trip, she thought.

After an hour of riding, a curious sight appeared on the opposite side of the river. Three humanoid creatures — gray leather skin, large black eyes, amphibious, webbed hands, and feet with claws — crawled onto a large angular rock. The water flowed off their leathery skin as the scaled the boulder. They lay down upon the warm rock and closed their eyes. Sam told her of Gorgons and that they had little interaction with land-based creatures.
