Chapter Seven
Mason woke with dozens of plans crowding his mind, all of them involving ways of making Jessie scream his name in pleasure again. I can’t believe I fel asleep after that mind-blowing experience. He’d planned to make love to her all night long. A matter he’d rectify shortly.
Elated that he’d finally gotten to make love to his chocolate princess, he was understandably miffed when he not only woke with a pounding headache, but to the fact he was no longer in his bedroom. As if fucking up his chances of morning sex with his irresistible swan lady weren’t enough, his kidnappers had handcuffed him, with silver no less, spread eagle in a cell, stark freaking naked. Not that his body was a thing to be ashamed of. In tip top shape, and hung like a bear—which was impressive for those who only seemed to ever compare to horses—he didn’t have a problem with nudity per se, on his terms. Having someone capture him while he slept, and chain him up, pissed him off.
None of his feelings compared, though, to his rage when he saw Jessie in the same situation in the next cell over. Who dared touched my bird? He roared, fury making him snap, and bringing forth his bear in a skin-splitting second. His beast, stronger and thicker than his human shape, easily snapped the manacles holding him, more like tore them from the cement wall in a cacophony of screaming metal. He snarled as he headed for the bars of his 89

cage, one need foremost in his mind. Saving my female. Oh and covering her from possibly spying eyes. That naked skin belonged to him, and him alone.
He grasped the bars, prepared to bend them, and a jolt went through him that shook his entire body. The smell of singed fur tickled his nostrils. It took Jessie screaming his name for him to release the bars and stare at his scorched hands. Ouch.
Fuckers. They’d electrified the bars. What did they take him for? An animal? In that case, the laws of the wild would apply, which meant killing and maiming were definitely on the menu. He roared in challenge.
“Hey, Smokey, mind losing the rabid act for a minute.” He heard Jessie’s soft chastisement and lifted a shaggy head only to gaze in frustrated agony at Jessie, who struggled in her own set of chains.
How could I have been so careless? Because he blamed himself for their current situation. He should have run with Jessie, taken her some place far where no one would have gotten their hands, or paws, on her. Instead, he’d let his cock rule his mind, and made love to her before collapsing into what he now suspected was an unnatural slumber. The only thing he couldn’t figure out was how they found them. Mason didn’t keep his address on file anywhere.
As a matter of fact, the name on his condo, as well as all the utilities, were under that of a corporation to make him almost impossible to find.
