Chapter Twenty
Now in charge, Aaron Steele awoke early this morning and briefed everybody, including Secretary Chancellor Tessa. The woman who had seen it all now. Aaron, the nerdy, little, glasses-wearing punk, taking over the Corporation.
Aaron didn’t think much of her either. She, the old has been, with a very silly title, was useless to him other than taking digital notes and trying to seduce all the younger men and women.
Both at their morning conference call, along with others, all wondered where in the world President Purcell was.
Della Winstrip from upstate New York, the new vice president, who in truth all knew was more of a stick figure than anything else, was now approached by the nerdy Steele after a brief meeting.
“Hello again, Della. Could you please watch my news broadcast?” He motioned. “Come with me. I’m recording over here.” Della went with him to a studio room, and Aaron sat in a chair as a worker bot started a camera and recorded. Aaron was now the one being filmed.
An automated greeting began the segment. We interrupt this broadcast for a B-Purcell News Bulletin. Aaron took over!
“Due to the recent attacks around the country, we’re now sending out specialized drones for all our citizens’ protection. Hello everyone, this is Acting-President Aaron Steele. Let me continue, if you encounter a drone, do not point a weapon or fire any projectile missile at them. These drones are specially integrated officers of the Y-Wood Corporation, and your safety is now our number one concern. Let it be known, all rebels and outlaws will pay for their defiance. You can count on the Corporation. We won’t stop until those who act out against law and order are apprehended.”
When finished, he looked to Della watching from the doorway and hoped she was impressed.
“How was I?” he asked. She nodded. He admired her because she had the gall to compete against others and when the so-called vice presidency came before her, she took it, not looking back, thus outsmarting as it appeared all the others as well as Y-Wood themselves.
She also had the tightest little ass, a very pretty face, and brains to go with it all. Aaron was in love. He had to have her before some other big shot went after her.
He thought to himself if he was actually the president for real, she would probably fall in love with him too, though he knew that would probably never be the case. He had to tread lightly with his envy, to win her over in other ways.
Eventually, he would like to have her as his own. Today, he complimented her not only on her appearance but on her work and putting out her own new news broadcast in heading the countrywide Y-Corporation Health Care Program.
But Della had other things in mind and gave him little attention. Aaron hoped they would talk today more, and he frowned as she waved goodbye and left the doorway. He went out after her, and she turned back toward him. His heart jumped from his chest.
