Viña San Pedro. Surrounded by a vineyard that was first planted in 1701, San Pedro is one of Chile’s largest producers, second only to Concha y Toro. San Pedro’s top of the line is the premium Cabo de Hornos (which is Spanish for Cape Horn), followed by 1865 (the year the winery was founded), and Castillo de Molina. The bottling plant has a sleek glass dome and a second-floor viewing platform, and you can feel small alongside the 28 half-million-liter stainless-steel tanks in the winery. There’s also a great little wine shop just off the highway where you can pick up some bargains. Tours can be arranged through the Ruta del Vino office in Curicó.
