RECOMMENDED SERVING SIZES

Between nine and eleven months of age, your baby should gradually move up to three solid meals a day, with each meal consisting of one to three servings of combinations of the food groups below. Servings should still be about the size of your baby’s fist, including:

• ¼ to ½ cup fruit

• ¼ to ½ cup vegetables

• ⅛ to ¼ cup protein-rich foods

• ⅓ cup dairy (or ½ ounce cheese)

• ¼ to ½ cup cereal

BREAST MILK OR FORMULA

Now that your baby is eating solid foods more regularly, you may be tempted to cut back on breastfeeding or bottle feeding—but don’t rush it. Through about his first birthday, he’ll still need 24 to 32 ounces of breast milk or formula in every 24-hour period.
