3.1 Applications of the Model to Home Depot
We illustrate the application of the profit system model FIRM for business analyses of Home Depot by showing the Excel worksheets on the computer screen generated in the application process. The application begins by downloading FIRM and saving it as FIRM_HomeDepot.xlsm. It is important to use file type Excel Macro-Enabled (xlsm) for saving the file so that the software can use the program written in Microsoft Visual Basic. We assume that the user has installed Analysis Toolpak VBA and that the Excel sheet displays “Developer” (see Preface).
