Save the new segmented dataset

• File>Save current dataset as

Name the file in such a way as to indicate the stage of the data analysis (e.g., ‘1001raw_ar_oac_epoch_filt’).

Subject Averaging

Having removed potential artifacts, the next step is to compute the ERP from the sample of data segments. Generating the ERP is accomplished by computing the arithmetic mean over all segments separately for each time-point and channel.

Computing subject averages with ERPlab

• ERPLAB>Compute Averaged ERPs

When the ‘WEIGHTED AVERAGER GUI’ dialog appears, be sure the number in the ‘Dataset(s)’ field corresponds with the EEGlab dataset you wish to average (default is the currently active dataset).

Select the option to ‘Exclude epochs marked during artifact rejection’ and click ‘Run’.

When the ‘Save Erpset GUI’ appears, select ‘Create a new erpset’ and enter a name for the erpset in the corresponding field. You may optionally decide to save the erpset to disk at this time. Click ‘OK’ to continue.
