Chapter Twenty-Three

Shane stood beside Keme and held his hand to check out his blue nail polish. His toenails matched, as always.

“Nice shade of blue.” Shane rubbed Keme’s nails.

“I have the bottle with me. Do you want me to paint your nails and toenails?

Julien and Dario glanced at them while they talked.

“Shane O’Rourke.” Julien leaned against the doorframe, chocolate shake in hand.

“I can’t Keme.” Shane ignored Julien. “I don’t want any problems with anyone at work or school. It looks great on you, though.” Shane would never hurt Keme. He loved Keme so much. He was his real friend. They could talk about anything together.

“You’re not allowed to paint your nails or your toes while you live in this house, Shane,” Julien said.

“Understood, Sir,” Shane said.

“Shane, stop pretending. You suck as a sub,” Dario said.

Julien tapped Dario on the shoulder and whispered something in his ear.

“Drink your shake and give this one to Keme.” Julien handed Shane the other shake.

Dario marched behind Julien to the dungeon. Julien was going to go Dom on Dario. No wonder Dario hated him so much. He hoped Julien whipped his ass, too. Fucking asshole.

“Are you okay?” Keme asked.

Shane nodded. “So, you guys are coming to the desert with us?”

“Yes, Julien called this morning to invite us.”

“Did you hear about what happened last night?” Shane stood while Keme sat on the couch, drinking his shake.

“Yes, Julien called Dario in the middle of the night while we were in bed.”

“What did Dario say about me?”

“The usual. That you’re a whore. You’re in it for the money. He thinks you’re going to rip Julien off,” Keme said.

“That fucking bastard. I hate Dario. I smoked pot with this dancer.”

“How could you smoke pot? You know it’s one of Julien’s house rules. That’s not all you did.” Keme looked almost disgusted with him for smoking pot.

“I got drunk too, but that’s it. Julien thinks other things happened. Nothing happened,” Shane said.

“You were stoned, how would you know?”

“I’d know. Plus the guy’s boyfriend showed up, and I had to climb out the window.”

“You still had no business hurting Julien.” Keme played with his bracelets.

“I wish I didn’t break the house rules.”

“Well, then I guess you were a happy man last night when you got your ass beat.”

“Who told you I got my ass beat?” Shane wondered why nothing was sacred around here.

“Well, I haven’t seen you sit down at all since I’ve been here. Dario told me what Julien did to you last night to warn me what happens to cheating subs.”

“Fuck. I hate when Julien tells other people our business, especially Dario. I don’t want anyone to know what Julien and I do together.” Shane balled his fists at his sides. Julien said his punishment ended tonight, so he had more punishments to go through.

“Are you sore?” Keme asked.

“I’m sore as beat-up balls. I feel like shit, but I didn’t fuck anyone like you all seem to think.”

“It’s kind of hard to believe you because you were stoned and drunk.
