Process Inventory Provides an Enterprise Labeling Schema

In order to fully leverage the potential of machine learning, which involves integrating it deeply and extensively into an organization’s core products, services, and business processes, resulting in operational excellence characterized by optimized efficiency and maximized resource utilization, it is essential to have a consistent labeling schema across the entire enterprise and all AI use cases.

Process Inventory serves as the foundation for this consistent labeling schema. As explained in Chapter 2, an organization’s comprehensive knowledge is captured through an ontology, which in this case is a polycategorical ontology due to the integration of multiple concepts with their respective taxonomies. The fundamental taxonomy in this context is the Process Inventory as all concepts, except for strategy, rely on processes for their existence. Therefore, the Process Inventory acts as the unified language that connects all concepts together coherently.
