Chapter 16

Aubrey couldn’t remember falling asleep on the couch but sometime during the night as they searched through CCTV and looked for clues that would give them the lead they needed she had fallen asleep. As she came to, fully dressed on her bed with a throw over her, she smiled. Sitting up she saw a note on the bedside table from Will.

Gone for a swim. Coffee in the kitchen!

Smiling, Aubrey got up and quickly stripped her clothes before switching the dial on the shower to hot. It didn’t matter to her how hot it was, she always had her showers steaming hot. Lathering her hair with shampoo, she thought about the case and what they needed to do now.

They needed to go to the embassy and question the staff, get a feel for Pierre and what he was like and see if anything else flagged as suspicious. But how to get in? This was not their case, and they had no jurisdiction here, but maybe there was a way.

Excitement fired her blood as she rinsed off, stepped out and wrapped a towel around herself. Aubrey began to pace as the idea formed. If she was right, they could get into the embassy and have all the access they needed to everything without any questions being asked.

Eager to tell Will her idea, she ran from the room and finding the living space empty, ran outside to the pool. She saw him swimming laps on his own and waited impatiently for him to finish.

He stopped at the end closest to her and looked up, pushing the hair back from his face. His heated eyes met hers and then she watched as they moved lower over her body like a silken caress that tingled everywhere it touched. Goosebumps broke out on her skin, and she fought the shiver that threatened.

“Morning, Brey. Is that how you greet people normally?” Will asked with a quirk of his eyebrow.

She looked down at the towel that was tucked under her armpits and barely covering her breasts and thighs. “Yeah, I didn’t think. I got distracted by a plan to get into the embassy,” she said.

“Um,” was his answer.

“Um? Is that all you have to say?” she asked as she braced her hands on her hips and glared at him.

“Um, if you don’t go and put some clothes on, I’m going to strip that towel off you and fuck you until you scream my name,” he said, and she saw he meant every word.

Her body began to tingle, and she squirmed as desire pooled in her belly. The thought of Will taking her on this patio, and the passion she saw in his eyes made her nipples bead and her mouth dry.

“You wouldn’t dare,” she challenged and then wondered if she had lost her mind when Will pulled himself out of the water, and his firm, wet, muscled body prowled closer to her as water ran down the tattooed skin of his abs, accentuating the v of muscle that made her want to melt.
