Test

Before a learning object is released, it must be tested. A thoroughly tested learning object will reduce the number of learner support calls or e-mails from students and faculty. Ideally, a learning object should function on its own with minimal support. To ensure that this happens, a testing plan should be included in the development process. The degree to which a learning object is tested will depend on the object’s complexity, how it will be accessed, and testing resources. The following section will look at a few common testing practices borrowed from the field of software engineering and look at how they might be used to test learning objects.
