I had a couple of trips abroad in the summer of 2010. The first was to Tel Aviv to see Simon Slavin, an immunotherapist recommended by a Ewing’s mother in California.
It was the time of the General Election. I sent Daniel an email with the result of the Oxford East constituency last time and gave him my hotel in Tel Aviv, in case my mobile didn’t work. There followed this exchange:
Daniel: This email has told me nothing new nor interesting.
Dad: Maybe not interesting but unless you knew the Oxford East result in 2005 (possible) and where I’m staying in Tel Aviv (extremely unlikely), it was new. And I think grammatically it should be “nothing new or interesting.” But then I’m not an Oxford student.
Daniel: The election info was not new, the hotel info not interesting. Clear?
