I’ve had hepatitis C for years, and, for years, it was getting worse. My gastroenterologist suggested treatment. I searched the web for the results of triple therapy—I was surprised that nearly three of four treated patients were clearing hepatitis C. Very promising! I jumped on that and took peginterferon, ribavirin, and telaprevir. In four weeks, my blood was cleared of the hepatitis C virus: HCV RNA was undetectable. I was clear of hepatitis C on-treatment, and was able to stop after just six months. Unfortunately, I was one of the few with “eRVR” that relapse. Now, I am considering future treatment options.

Other persons with hepatitis C have asked me if they should try triple therapy. I tell them to go with triple therapy. There’s more than a 70 percent chance that they will be cured if they take triple therapy. Those are good odds.
