(d) Corneal and lenticular opacities : These would alter PRVEPs only if they are associated with severe visual impairment. There is diminished luminance reaching the retina, which affects more the amplitude rather than the latency of P100 latency (Fig. 3.25).

(e) Glaucoma results in the damage of the retinal nerve fibers. As expected, it may produce prolonged P100 latency obtained on stimulation of the involved eye. Towle et al. (1983) reported prolonged latencies in 16 of the 30 eyes with glaucomatous field defect and in 9 of the 40 eyes with ocular hypertension.
