Focal seizures may only affect a single limb and do not necessarily require emergency treatment.

If the patient is known to have seizures and they are generally short in duration (<1 min), let the seizure run its course, protecting the patients head, don’t try and restrain them and never put anything in their mouth.

A Tonic Clonic Seizure generally follows four stages;

· Indication of Seizure (Aura)

· Patient becomes Rigid (Tonic)

· Seizure activity (Clonic)
