Acceptance of failure: Social capital not only provides funding for new ventures but also helps in not looking down upon failures. Actually, many times the extended family or community act as risk mitigators and encourage youngsters to not lose heart. They could provide easy terms of repayment and also facilitate setting up of new businesses. In that sense, community leaders act as friends, philosophers and guides and treat business failures as a normal possibility.

Given the above parameters regarding social capital acting as a facilitator in entrepreneurship we will explore the Indian scenario by studying different economic clusters to elaborate on the role of caste as social capital.
