“What are we going to do until the guys get here?”

“We’re going to party!” Christy hollered as she threw her hands in the air. “Bring out the alcohol.”

“Ana’s breastfeeding so she can’t drink, and Jade is pregnant.”

She sighed. “Is this a good time to tell you guys I think I might be pregnant too?”

Shock did not adequately describe what I was feeling. “Christy, you’re pregnant?”

She played with her hair. “I think I am, but I don’t know. My period is two weeks late.”

I looked down at Bonnie, who was now sleeping. I walked over to the bassinet that was on the coffee table and sat her down inside it. Anna smiled gratefully at me, and I returned the smile. The poor thing looked like she needed some sleep.

“What are we waiting for? Let’s get a pregnancy test,” Christy jumped to her feet.

“I’ll go with you,” Belle grinned as he grabbed her bag.

“Hey, take a guard with you just to be safe.” Nate had more security guards on duty while he was gone. Kai and Elijah was in the house with us while the other guards stayed outside.

“I’ll take them,” Kai volunteered, as he grabbed a set of car keys.

“Can you guys pick up some snacks on the way back?”

“Anything in particular?” Belle asked me.

“No, but if I think of anything, I’ll text you.”

They left after that, and Anna and I got to talking. She and Cole have been doing good, but she feels like he was not bonding with Bonnie all that well. He plays with her when she is around, but whenever she catches him alone with Bonnie, he never picks her up or even attempts to.

“Oh, honey, that’s nothing to worry about,” I remembered Cole telling me he feared babies because he was so huge, and they were so tiny. He was terrified he would drop them. He only found out she was pregnant while she was giving birth so he didn’t have the time to prepare and learn how to hold her properly.

“Are you sure?” she asked worriedly. “What if he hates her?”

“Cole loves kids,” my voice rose slightly. "He’s just scared to hold them.”

“He’s just afraid to drop her?”

“Exactly, but don’t worry. I’m sure if you teach him, he’ll be holding her all the time.”

Her face stretched into a smile. “Thanks Jade. You know you’re going to make a great mom.”

“Thank you. That means a lot,” I told her honestly. “I know they weren’t planned, but I couldn’t imagine life without them.”

“They?” she perked up. “As in more than one?”

Crap, I was not ready to say anything about there being two babies yet. I wanted to tell my family back home first before I told everyone else. I only told Christy because she would have a fit if I hid it from her.

She threatened to break into my doctor’s office if I didn’t keep her up to date. I knew she was crazy enough to do it, so I just let her know.

I simply winked at Anna and let her draw her own conclusion.
