As part of the customizable approach inherent to a field as broad and diverse a talent development, ATD created an interactive and customizable version of the Capability Model, which you can access via TD.org. Use this interactive model to identify the capabilities required and any knowledge or skills gaps you have for your current role, as well as what you envision for your future.

Once you identify the capabilities you need, those you have, and those you need to build, create a learning and development plan for yourself. The interactive Capability Model will link you to education courses, publications, and other ATD tools and resources that will help you close those gaps. There are a variety of resources available so you can find content that fits your learning preferences and available time and budget. Share your plan with your manager, coach, mentor, or other knowledgeable person who can help support and motivate you in your journey to expand your capabilities.
