I am so sorry to hear through the Rev. A.S. Bishop, our chaplain with the North Midland Division, of the death of your gallant son for his king and country. It may be some consolation to you that he died in doing his duty for his country in the cause of right. You have no doubt had all particulars from Mr. Bishop as to his burial etc. May you have the comfort and help that God alone can supply to bear this heavy trial.
