Vanquishing Negative Emotions
As we discussed in the previous chapter, emotions are, at the physical level, chemicals produced by our brain in response to stimuli, be it something that is happening outside our body or in our own mind. At the energetic level, emotions are vibrations, frequencies at which you are resonating. It has been amply proven that emotions color our experience of life, thereby defining our reality. If we change our emotional response to a certain situation, we change our experience of that situation, affecting our definition of reality.
When an emotion is expressed in your physical body, you have already experienced it on a mental level. Therefore, the chemicals of that emotion (for example: adrenaline for fear and cortisol for stress) are running through your bloodstream. You have to let the emotion run its course and fade along with the chemicals. Since emotional responses are so critical to our well-being, we must learn to manage our emotions at the physical and the mental level.
