Y is a Jew, and his inferiority sometimes expresses itself in aggression

[And a more favourable] Z is a Jew but doesn’t show it much.

Diagnosis and Treatment

What effects might biases about Jewish proneness to particular disorders such as OCD [23] have on accuracy of diagnosis and effectiveness of treatment? I am not aware of any specific evidence on this point. There is some broader evidence, however, that religious behaviour among the culturally alien may be mislabelled as psychopathology. For example, religious enthusiasm among black minority groups in Britain has led to a misdiagnosis of psychiatric disorder [24]. This, in turn, can lead to unhelpful treatment – notably unnecessary hospitalization or medication. It is also likely that needed mental health treatment in tight-knit, closed ethnic and religious groups, such as Orthodox Jewry, is avoided for fear of being stereotyped and stigmatized [24].
