Key Learnings and Takeaways

Little’s Law assumption #2 says that all work that is started will eventually be completed and exit the process.

The concept that no work gets lost or does not ever exit the process is the second half of a concept known as the Conservation of Flow.

To set ourselves up properly so as not to violate CoF we need to implement a just-in-time prioritization and just-in-time commitment strategy (these strategies are direct consequences of putting in place a pull system).

In knowledge work, commitment means two things: That once committed to, work will flow all the way through our process to completion.

That part of the commitment is a communication of an expected Cycle Time range and probability for a given item to complete.
